Who we are
The "Amici di Alfonso" is a small community of people who help the volunteer Alfonso to recover the animals in difficulty in the area of Gragnano, Naples and Salerno, and find them a family who will love them forever.
Many of the members have adopted one or more furry ones through Alfonso and having experienced firsthand the goodness of his work, they have remained close to him to help him spread the calls for adoption and support the recovered animals.
The happy ending stories written by Alfonso and his "adopters" are countless and witnessed by the thousands of photos and videos shared in the WhatsApp chat that unites the members of the adopter community.
Hundreds of dogs and cats in recent years have found a family thanks to Alfonso and his friends, but emergencies never end and every day there are new foundlings to help. For this reason, the "Amici di Alfonso" support animals in difficulty and spread their stories, so that even more hairy people can find a family that welcomes and loves them forever.
Special adoptions
Some four-legged friends are better able than others to reach a home quickly. For example, puppies, purebred and small dogs find a family more easily than mestizos, adults, large breeds and with behavioral or health problems.
For the latter very often a whole life is expected in a cold box, perhaps in a "lager kennel" where they do not receive any visitors and have no chance of being helped and noticed.
Adopting a dog in need is an act of infinite love and for this reason called "adoption of the heart". If you have had experiences with an animal before, and you care about the well-being of those less fortunate, please consider adopting a dog or cat that needs a family more than others.
How to help
Saving a dog or cat and trying to give them a better future is a difficult path, which sometimes requires a lot of time and resources.
Volunteers are needed for recovery and deadlock waiting for a definitive adoption, volunteers for pre-foster care, contributions for veterinary care, sterilization and vaccines, food and transport and finally many friends who spread the appeals on the network and on every platform , in order to get them to the right person at the right time: the one who will be willing to give him love forever.

Grandpas/mas
Very often an elderly dog has spent his entire life in a cage, whether in a shelter or in a kennel, without ever having known freedom. And unfortunately in many cases he will die in that cage. Even if for a few years, you give a home and the warmth of a family to a dog that has only suffered in life.
Urgent adoptions
Some animals are in precarious conditions, live on the road and are threatened, or suffer more than others from being in kennels and shelters. Some were used to having a house and a space all to themselves and cannot accept imprisonment after abandonment, while others have a lively and sparkling character and have a physiological need for movement and interaction with humans.
For these special friends we ask for an urgent but conscious adoption by those who love them and understand their needs.
